We are pleased to share that Zest has been awarded a Carbon Literate Organisation Bronze Award. Following our recent achievement of becoming a Carbon Neutral Business, we are working to further our commitment to sustainability.
According to the Carbon Literacy Project, “if we are to cut our carbon emissions by the kind of reductions demanded of us by science, then we will need to change culture alongside technology.”
At Zest, reaching Net Zero carbon emissions is a priority. We believe that by accelerating the rollout of quality EV charging infrastructure, we are providing the technology needed to support the transition away from greenhouse gas polluting ICE vehicles and towards greener energy sources. But as well as our commitment to developing this infrastructure, we recognise the cultural shift needed to reach Net Zero.
As such, Zest has been awarded a Carbon Literate Organisation Bronze Award, meaning we are committed to developing a Carbon Literate workforce through our employees’ Carbon Literacy training, and to delivering low carbon behaviour. As part of the training, Zest employees are learning the carbon costs of everyday activities not just within the context of the workplace, but also on an individual and community level. The training delves into climate science, breaks down carbon footprint calculations, and allows learners to develop strategies to lower their carbon impact.
Carbon Literate citizens typically make carbon savings of 5-15%, and this training ensures consideration for the carbon impact of our actions is integrated into our work and that we are equipped with the knowledge of how we can reduce this.
