Zest, the UK’s fastest growing investor-operator of public access EV charging infrastructure, has opened an EV charging facility in Kingswinford, Dudley, providing the community with easy access to convenient EV charging.
A further addition to Zest’s growing West Midlands EV network, the six rapid charging spaces are located on the corner of Barnett Green and Barnett Lane, close to several local independent businesses.
The investment in Kingswinford has been welcomed by residents, local businesses and community leaders, and represents a progressive step to reduce the reliance on petrol and diesel vehicles.
Zest is developing EV charging across the UK in areas that lack sufficient EV infrastructure – making it easier for drivers without chargers to conveniently recharge their vehicles close to home or on the go.
Councillor Patrick Harley, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, said:
"This is a significant step forward for Kingswinford in our efforts to create a more sustainable Dudley. Reliable EV infrastructure that fits seamlessly into daily life is essential for encouraging more residents to switch to electric vehicles. Zest’s local chargers will provide a valuable resource for our neighbourhood, making sustainable transport accessible to all.”
Robin Heap, CEO at Zest, said:
“Making EV charging a seamless part of daily life is essential. With the rollout of new facilities in Kingswinford, Zest continues to deliver local charging solutions that provide communities with the infrastructure they need, right where they need it.”
