Zest, the UK’s fastest growing investor-operator of public access EV charging infrastructure, has opened rapid charging bays at Active Nation Filton, a leisure centre and community hub in South Gloucestershire.
Rapid charging allows Active Nation visitors to easily top-up when they visit, using contactless or the Zest app. It is part of Zest’s ongoing strategy to rollout convenient charging infrastructure that synchronises with drivers’ everyday lives - wherever they usually park.
In addition to funding and providing the facilities, Zest operates and maintains them to ensure a reliable long-term service.
Active Nation Filton is a partnership between Filton Town Council and Active Nation. It is more than a leisure centre, providing a hub for health and fitness in the community. Offering a wide range of activities and modern facilities, it is dedicated to making active living accessible and enjoyable for all.
Scott Jones, Business Manager at Active Nation, said: “The UK is moving towards electric vehicles, which reduce our carbon emissions and improves the local air quality. By working with Zest to provide charging for our visitors we are making it easier for current and future EV drivers.”
Robin Heap, CEO and Founder at Zest, said: “Increasingly people expect to top-up wherever they usually park, and they will choose destinations based on the charging experience. Forward-looking destinations like Active Nation Filton are taking the lead by hosting high quality, fully managed rapid charging now.”
