Robin Heap talks about the public EV charging revolution at EV World Congress

Bristol, UK. 19-20 October 2021

Taking place less than a month before COP26, EV World Congress brings world leading organisations, cities, and technology providers to the UK to inspire EV innovators and delve into the challenges as the UK revolutionises road transport. From local authorities facing even tighter budgets to roll out chargers due to COVID, to fleets struggling to manage the energy demand of EVs, to innovative grid balancing technologies to ensure the grid can handle the power demands of EV usage, the Congress will provide solutions to accelerate EV strategies.

Robin Heap, Zest CEO, will be speaking in the Investing Private & Public Finance In Charging Infrastructure track. The panel, How can businesses and local authorities win private investment, will explore the latest business models being used to deploy EV charging infrastructure.

Coming just a week after the company announced an initial £30m investment from Zouk Capital through HM Government’s Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund (CIIF), the session could not be more relevant.

Robin, who already has successful EV charging network roll-outs under his belt, believes that investment-driven change is needed to accelerate mainstream EV adoption:

  • Remove the financial risk and operational barriers to give landowners the confidence to deploy an abundance of new public charge points.
  • Prioritise the growth of public charge points where people naturally park.

The panel, How can businesses and local authorities win private investment, is at 2.30pm on Tuesday 19th October.
