B Corp Month is an annual global campaign celebrating businesses that balance purpose and profit. As this year's event comes to a close, we’re reflecting on how Zest marked the occasion by raising awareness, engaging with B Lab UK, and supporting our fellow B Corps.
To celebrate B Corp Month and help readers learn more about the certification, Zest partnered with B Lab UK and The Guardian in their B Corp Month activations.
We were featured in a homepage takeover alongside prominent B Corps including Tilda, Danone, and TicketTailor, as well as in an in-depth explainer on what B Corp Certification means.
The takeover ran across The Guardian’s cookie-free homepage throughout the month, helping to increase national awareness of the B Corp certification, exploring what it stands for and why it matters. To learn more, read The Guardian’s press release here.
As part of our internal celebrations, we hosted a Lunch & Learn session with B Lab UK to deepen our team’s understanding of the B Corp movement. Isabel McLennan, Engagement Manager at B Lab UK, shared insights into the B Corp certification and B Lab’s vision for the future. Our own Social Value Manager Julie Holmes also spoke about how B Corp’s principles shape Zest's approach to social value.
Finally, B Corp Month gave us the opportunity to support our fellow B Corporations in a tangible way. We provided a selection of B Corp certified snacks and drinks in the office, including coffee from fellow Yorkshire-based companies Dark Woods and North Star. We even had a visit from Equinox Kombucha, who kindly provided a great selection of drinks for our team to try.
B Corp Month has been a great opportunity to celebrate what it means to be part of this global movement. From raising awareness on a national scale, to internal learning and supporting our peers, the campaign has allowed us to reflect and gain inspiration as we continue to improve and use business as a force for good
